''Either
We Stand For Something Or We'll Fall For Anything''
Keeping
Them Honest
A
man you will rarely have seen or heard much about until
recently was Walter M. Shaub Jr.
He
was, until yesterday, Director of the OGE (Office of Government
Ethics.)
You
can call it that branch of government which keeps the politicians
honest.
It
continually reminds those in Office of the law and of compliance with
high standards of ethics in their public and private dealings.
However
it does not just enforce compliance, little known, it has helped many
politicians resolve sometimes embarrassing situations or conflicts
without publicity – on the basis of non-repetition and their lack
of experience or ignorance about procedure and law with regard to
transactions or dealings.
The
reason for his resignation is Donald Trump - whom he believes has
turned America into a 'laughingstock' in terms of hypocrisy,
duplicity or double-standards and rogue government.
Trump,
in his usual fashion, has, as with former FBI Director Comey, hit
back and accused Shaub of being a publicity-seeker.
I
repeat, Shaub's only 'crime' was to ask Trump and his family members
in the White House to comply with ethics standards. Far from doing
this, President Trump has not 'divorced' himself of his considerable
financial conflicts of interests and has hit back at Shaub accusing
him of being part of an anti-Trump 'conspiracy' and of being a
publicity-seeker.
Shelter
From The Storm
Shaub,
I can say, from research, rarely hits the spotlight, is not a
publicity-seeker and has always worked quietly in the background on
behalf of the country – not a tyrant - or personal loyalty to any
individual.
He
would run a million miles from any gangster or Mafia-class attempting
to subvert the ethics public office.
It
is sad (some will say deeply troubling) to see probably the most
respected man on Capitol Hill resign and make such utterances about
incumbent President Trump and how he (Trump) is bringing not just the
White House but America into disrepute - worldwide.
It
is unheard of for the former Director of OGE to make such utterances
about an incumbent or retired President and no President since the
turn of the last century has been so publicly criticised by so
prominent an individual as Shaub.
[If
I read between the lines I would further add that the disreputable
individuals (some might say gangsters if not by name then by deeds)
which Trump has invited or nominated to run America should sound
alarm bells that the U.S. Constitution - and it's institutions - are
all now in grave peril.]
'Laissez-faire':
'A
Time For Everything' say's The Grim Reaper
[Song
Of Solomon]
Trump
and his entourage know nothing about government nor its dedicated
servants. My guess is that they (his Staff) have nothing but contempt for
all government appointees or civil servants whom they see as
obstacles to their turning of the United States of America into a
'laissez-faire' business Casino for the President, his family and
their billionaire friends.
Trump
was particularly angry (incensed?) at the OGE's insistence of his
financial compliance and that he divulge his assets for public
scrutiny.
This
was what probably spelt the end of Shaub's career as Director.
It
is in tribute to this devotion to his work that I am re-publishing
President Trump's full accounts as released to OGE – which you can
download from
Further
Research
If
you are a Senator, Congressman or Congresswoman you will already know
how to focus on any aspect or data for further interpretation,
research or analysis but it is highly likely that there are
individuals out there who might be able to contribute useful
additional information to some aspect of the disclosed accounts in
the public interest – since President Trump is unlikely to be
giving any cooperation voluntarily.
Dark
Days
I
said, rather disparagingly, that it was a very 'dark day' for the
White House - and for America - when President Trump and his family
moved in.
Even
I could not have realised the full extent of how true this is now
turning out to be.
The
Crumbs Falling From The Rich Man's Table
I
again must say that I started off liking Donald Trump. I had read
several of his books by early 2016. It was only when it became
apparent that he would claw his way into the White House by
scapegoating those least able to defend themselves that I 'switched
back' to supporting Hillary Clinton. His policies were at best
hollow and based on 'divide America' by 'engineering' the left to
fight the right, mistrust between 'haves and have nots' have the
poor, the dispossessed, those with nothing but anger fight each other
for the 'crumbs' falling from the billionaire's table – and blame
it all on 'them' to fuel hatred and divisions – keeping the focus
away from the real objectives of the Trump administration – Mammon
himself, his family, for the billionaires surrounding him at home and
abroad.
Trojan
Horses
[I
cautioned that even The Ukraine would be 'sold' for 'thirty pieces of
silver' to corporate interests - purporting to 'invest' in the
country - and which themselves would ultimately be sold to the
Russian Federation on a 'lease-back' arrangement.]
''Either
We Stand For Something Or We'll Fall For Anything''
I
only became aware of 'the Russia scandal' 'on the grapevine' about
last June or July and it took about two months to confirm what I was
reading was actually true and causing alarm amongst agencies tasked
with protecting America.
As
I said quite frankly, the only request which Trump did not make to
the Kremlin was to kill or 'assassinate' Hillary Clinton. He called
on them to do everything just short of it – including releasing all
the emails which, through a sleeper-surrogate (this has now been
shown to be highly likely if not fact) had been passed to Wikileaks:
''Wikileaks!
... I love Wikileaks!'' (U.S. Presidential Candidate Donald J.
Trump.)
''For
Whom The Bell Tolls...It Tolls For Thee''
(I
also cautioned that as soon as Wikileaks 'outlived it's usefulness'
to Trump, it would be 'Game Over' – either shut up or come onboard.
'Keeping Them Honest' only applied subverting the democratic
process.)
And
so it continues............ ''the show must go on (!)''
