Before you read this "story" by Qatar-funded Al Jazeera referenced below, let me remind you briefly:
1.MH17 was downed over Eastern (Russian-speaking) Ukraine (The Donetsk Peoples Republic, the DPR) where Ukrainian Armed Forces and British mercenaries (Private Military Contractors, PMCs) were covertly operating, with the knowledge of the European Union (training facilities in Bulgaria, Romania and Poland) and the British government - at that time, a particular firm of London-based Private Military Contractors, the one later identified by Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service, as being active in the area at the time of MH-17 downing, and whose office is now long vacated and relocated, under a new company name, to the Caribbean.
2.MH-17 was downed in a heavily contested (Ukrainian Armed Forces v Donetsk Peoples Republic Volunteer Militia) area where civilians were being indiscriminately killed.
Evidence of War Crimes provided by the DPR/LPR was being conveniently ignored by the European Union also at this time.
Until recently it was only speculated as to why the European Union and the United Nations ignored these atrocities and pleas for action by both Russia and the DPR.
We now know, sadly, from former German Chancellor Dr. Prof. Merkel herself, that this (ignoring atrocities against Russian-speaking civilians in Eastern Ukraine and discussions about autonomy for the DPR and LPR) were part of an overall strategy by the European Union and NATO to "buy time" in order to reequip, retrain and reinforce the Ukrainian government's armed forces to retake, by military force, the Donetsk Peoples Republic and the Luhansk Peoples Republic and place (NATO-supplied) missiles right up on the borders of Ukraine-Russia for "defensive" purposes.
All this was unknown to the general public until revealed by former Chancellor Merkel herself last year.
(The Kremlin has since said how "shocked" it was to hear the above from former Chancellor Merkel. My very limited knowledge of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service, one of the most efficient in the world, might suggest otherwise.)
3.The "impartial" and "high standards/high bar of evidence" Investigation Team into the MH-17 War Crime, the Joint Investigation Team, JIT, had, on it, appointed nominees from the Governments of Ukraine (at war with Russia since 2014) Australia (a NATO-U.S. partner, ally of Ukraine's Government in it's War against Russia), Netherlands and Belgium (both NATO members and supporters of Ukraine in the war against Russia) and, of course, Malaysia.
Malaysia is far from being a neutral country in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
Most of it's defense and intelligence sharing with the West partners through the United Kingdom, as main intermediary.
Neither Russia nor the Donetsk Peoples Republic were invited to join the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) into the downing of MH-17.
The authors of this article in Al Jazeera did not even do their homework properly: why would the leader of the Luhansk Peoples Republic be discussing this matter with Putin when the plane was downed over the Donetsk Peoples Republic? Surely the leader of the DPR would have had many conversations about this international incident over it's territory and Putin would have admitted THESE "facts"(as stated in Al Jazeera) to him rather than to the leader of the LPR?
The transcripts don't exist folks because the 'researchers' at Al Jazeera were simply given their script to write, likely by another party.
Folks, this is mainstream journalism today, yesterday, and, no doubt, tomorrow.
As someone (far wiser than I) once told me, you only get awards as a (mainstream) journalist for "being a good boy" (towing the line) and not for "rocking the boat."
This article, written (or "compiled") for the 99% who know little about the real world , will, no doubt "seal" the "reputation" of Al Jazeera as a "go to" "reliable" and "dependable" source of "factual" information, in the global Western mainstream media.

*I apologise for not mentioning that the airplane of the Russian Federation President and those of Malaysia airline MH-17 had similar external markings. If you were aware of the former, it could easily , at a distance, be mistaken for the latter.
Sadly such acts of *air terrorism are nothing knew for certain European countries and had become almost a “hallmark” feature of another during the 1960s,70s and early ‘80s.
